Simply put, these are compounds found in cannabis sativa, an ancient plant that has been revered in cultures throughout the world. They activate the numerous cannabinoid receptors found in our brains and bodies – receptors that are present in all humans. Tetrahydrocannabinol (also known as THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) are the two best known of these compounds, but there are hundreds of cannabinoids, many of which are being studied for the first time.
